PLUGGING IN

As might be expected with a project as important as a local currency for Kaua`i, there are many ways to get involved, and room for many kinds of people to play important and crucial roles.

Everyday People willing to help in the legwork of distribution across the island and serve on the 'Kaua`i Reserve Board', Designers to help design the bills, Local Business Owners willing to accept the currency as payment for their goods and services, and Community Leaders to bring non-profits and local government together to get Kaua`i Time up and rolling.  It takes an island to make an island currency!

Understand - this is no small effort.  It is estimated that several tens of thousands of hour bills of Kaua`i Time will need to be in circulation (~$300,000 USD) in order to create a successful, self-sustaining local currency with positive real-world impact.  As steady progress is made, hour bills of Kaua`i Time can begin to go into circulation in 2010.
